Established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995, National Assisted Living Week is a weeklong celebration that provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for our senior population.

This year’s National Assisted Living Week is very special because of the enormous challenges of the past year. The 2021 theme is “Compassion, Community, Caring”, which highlights the incredible care provided by caregivers in assisted living facilities across the country. It also honors the sense of community and being together despite being physically apart, and the compassion that helped so many get through a difficult year. National Assisted Living Week is a way to celebrate the dedication of staff, the individuality of residents, and the deep connections formed in these settings.
